Violators can be suspended from WTA service and facilities.
According to Washington State Law (RCW 9A.36.031), anyone who assaults a person employed as a transit operator or driver, the immediate supervisor of a transit operator or driver, a mechanic, or a security officer, by a public or private transit company or a contracted transit service provider, while that person is performing his or her official duties at the time of the assault is guilty of Assault in the Third Degree. Assault in the Third Degree is a class C felony.
Yes, however pets (unlike service animals) must be secured in an approved pet carrier.
For everyone's safety, children must be removed from strollers when riding the bus.
Your child can remain in the stroller while you're getting on or off the bus.
When possible, strollers should be folded and stowed beneath or between the seats. If your stroller does not fit beneath or between the seats, you can secure it in the wheelchair securement area. Keep in mind that people in wheelchairs always have priority in this area.
