A Public Hearing will be held by the Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) Board of Directors during their meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at 4011 Bakerview Spur, Bellingham. For virtual access instructions, visit https://www.ridewta.com/board-meetings/

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on the 2027-2032 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP is available for review on WTA’s website at www.ridewta.com under About WTA\Reports.

Those who are unable to participate in the Public Hearing can comment by 3:00 p.m., Wed., July 15th using one of the following methods.

You can now pay your fare on all Fixed Route buses using a "contactless" credit/debit card or a mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay).

How to Tap

• Look: Find the tap to pay symbol on the bus card reader.
• Tap: Hold your card or device flat against the reader.
• Go: When the screen turns green and beeps, you're ready to go!

3 Things to Know

• No sharing: Every rider must use their own unique card or device.
• Avoid "Card Clash": Take your card out of your wallet before tapping so the reader doesn't scan the wrong card.
• Fare Capping: Use the same card or device every trip to trigger automatic free rides through fare capping. You must scan the exact same card or device for every single ride. Pay for 3 rides in one day → Ride free the rest of the day. Pay for 30 rides in a month → Ride free the rest of the month
•  WTA will be rolling out Tap to Pay on Paratransit later this summer.
