Riding Fixed Routes

All of WTA transit buses can accommodate people using wheelchairs or people with other disabilities. Each vehicle has a wheelchair lift and kneeling steps. Drivers also announce stops for people who have visual or cognitive disabilities. In addition, all of our drivers receive training in proper ways to provide assistance to those with disabilities.

We encourage you to use our Fixed Route transit system whenever possible. Passengers who use the transit system for some trips and need Specialized Transportation for other trips can do so without fear of losing Specialized Transportation services. Many eligible passengers use transit when they can, and use Specialized Transportation services when they don’t feel well, when making a trip with packages, or when their trip requires a longer walk to their bus stop or destination.

Advantages of the Fixed Route / Transit Bus:
• There’s no need to call in advance for a ride.
• The bus runs on a regular schedule so you can plan your own trips and return trips.
• It keeps you in contact with your community, including our friendly drivers.

We would be glad to talk with you about how to use the transit system for some of your trips. If you’re interested, please contact WTA at (360) 676-6843 (Voice or TTY) for more information.
