WTA offers limited service, called SAFETY NET, to people in less populated parts of Whatcom County. The service is limited to certain days of the week and connects people from outlying areas into Bellingham to the main transit centers. Our ability to handle a particular trip request depends on other reservations and how well they fit together.
Please see the SAFETY NET map for more details on specific SAFETY NET area boundaries and how they relate to exact addresses and locations. SAFETY NET areas do not include ADA corridors, which is the area within .75 miles of WTA fixed route or FLEX areas. The following gives only general descriptions of the areas:
