How To Ride

Here are some tips to help ease the "first-time" jitters of riding the fixed route system:

  • WTA is happy to assist you in determining what bus routes you need to get there and back. Call (360) 676-RIDE (7433) and talk to our friendly customer service representatives.
  • For help using the Transit Guide, call (360) 676-RIDE (7433).
  • Bus fare is $1.00. Please have exact change since drivers do not carry cash. (For the best value, purchase a monthly bus pass for only $25 and take all the rides you want in a month.) Drop the money in the small slot in the top of the box by the driver. If you have a bus pass, have the magnetic strip facing you and at the bottom, and slide from right to left in the slot marked for passes.
  • Be at the stop a few minutes early.
  • Always use the front door to board the bus, and the rear door to exit the bus.
  • If you have a bike, place the bike on the rack before boarding the bus.
  • Pull the cord to let the driver know you need to get off the bus at the next stop. If you are unsure which stop you need once you are on the bus, just ask the driver!
